"Synchrotron Radiation Research in the Pacific Rim:
Emerging Techniques and Applications"

Organizer: Prof. T. Ohta, Department of Chemistry, University of Tokyo
Co-organizers: Dr. Mark Antonio, Chemistry Division, Argonne National Laboratory
Prof. T.K. Sham, Department of Chemistry, University of Western Ontario

Synchrotron radiation research is a rapidly growing field and various unique techniques have been developed and applied to basic and applied materials science. In addition to the upgrades of operating synchrotron facilities, new facilities have been constructed and operated in the Pacific Rim countries in the last five years. The aim of this symposium is to enhance the information exchange among the researchers in the Pacific Rim countries who are interested in synchrotron radiation and to discuss about future applications of synchrotron radiation.

Oral sessions: December 16(Fri) and 17 (Sat) at Regency II (Royal Hawaian)

Poster presentation: December 17 (Sat) at Waikiki Ballroom (Sheraton Waikiki)
